Here be dragons

Hurricane Gonzola hits the UK
Not sure that I fancy the studio while the UK gets the back end of Hurricane Gonzola, so I’ll probably help my daughter make her gas mask box for her WWII day at school.

Ayame Study
A few shots of a study from today. I really enjoyed getting loose and blocking in colours.
A rough outline based upon the sketch (see previous post) followed by oils applied with stiff brushes.

More traditional direction, maybe
So yeah, I guess for a while I’ve been moving toward a more ‘traditional’ way of painting/creating.
The other day I made a preliminary sketch (cartoon) of a full figure portrait I’ve been wanting to make (and been putting off) and today that cartoon was transferred onto canvas.
All that’s left is to paint it, I guess.
